                                                               Grooming
The Dalmatians are very easy dogs to groom due to their short coat, which dosen`t require annual brushing like a Shetland Sheepdog or Afghan Hound would. However they do shed all the time; 365 days a year. Like any dog, time of the year will increase shedding. Although shedding is not preventable there are a couple ways the hair can be managed. Paisleypella uses this tool pictured below! It was originally used for horses until they discovered it has the same effect on dogs! This wonderful tool pulls out all the dead and falling out hairs so they don't go burry themselves in unwanted places. This tool will shock you with how much hair comes out! Dalmatians who are properly taken care of normally have a smooth coat which makes is hard for dust and dirt to cling onto because of a natural oil in their coats.

Please keep your dogs nails short, try to cut them every week to make sure they stay at the proper length shown below. The first picture below shows a dogs nails that are way too long whereas the other picture below shows how they should be kept. We use nails clipper and a nail grinder, this tool is a battery operated grinder which allows you to get very close to the quick without hurting the dog or making him/her bleed. This will keep your dog nails short, which overall will keep your dog healthier. You can also use nail clippers but they don't get as close to the quick and you run the risk of quacking your dog easier.
